What we will and won't program

Our job is to make your radio correct as well as convenient. That means a few firm boundaries, stated plainly:

  • GMRS channels are programmed only on Part 95-certified radios. You'll need an FCC GMRS license — there's no exam, and it covers your immediate family for ten years.
  • Amateur transmit memories stay within Part 97 privileges for your license class. Tell us your class and we'll scope the plan to it.
  • Public-safety, business, and other restricted frequencies are programmed receive-only. We do not configure transmit on services you are not licensed for.
  • If a radio can't legally do what you're asking, we'll say so and suggest equipment that can.

Hardware We Support

We program the common programmable GMRS and amateur handhelds and mobiles. If your radio talks to a computer, we can almost certainly help.
